About Supported Employment

image of workers in kitchenSupported employment is a unique model used across the world to support people from a disavantaged background into paid work. The economic disadvantage may be due to having a disability, poor health or low academic skills levels or because of the discrimination experienced by being black, disabled or being an older worker.

Use the menu to find out more about supported employment, the business case for having a diverse workforce and some examples of people and companies that we have supported.

For details of other supported employment providers across the UK, visit the website of the British Association for Supported Employment.
